Ultimate in carbon bio-polymer Aquaria Go-Aquarium NP-reducing Bio-Pellets and Reactors NP-reducing Bio-Pellets is a kind of biological reaction medium and bacterial food source, which designed for reducing nitrate and phosphate in aquariums. This keeps the aquarium water clean and healthy.

How does it work?

The pellets will allow aerobic growth of bacteria which will consume nitrates and phosphates simultaneously. The bacteria will use of the carbon from the Bio-Pellets, whilst nitrogen and phosphorus are taken from the water as nitrate and phosphate. The surplus of bacteria will be consumed by filter and suspension feeding organisms such as sponges and corals, or skimmed off by a protein skimmer. In addition, anaerobic layers will develop, resulting in additional denitrification that lower NO3. Product Guidelines Aquaria Go- Aquarium NP-reducing Bio-Pellets can be placed in canister filter or fluidized reactors. A proper starting dosage is 100-200ml of pellets per 100 litres of water. After about 2-4 weeks, nitrate and phosphate levels should start decreasing. NP-reducing Bio-Pellets are consumed by bacteria, which is why new pellets need to be added every 3-6 months to compensate for digested substrate. These figures however depend on aquarium conditions and are strongly influenced by feeding regimes and livestock.
